I grew up coloring Easter eggs the traditional way and since this is the first year we'll be sharing the tradition with Brielle, I thought I'd post the instructions.
Here's what you'll need for each color of dye:
1/2 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon white vinegar
15-20 drops liquid food coloring
1. Boil eggs. (we always left our eggs in the hot water after they were boiled and took them out as needed)
2. Put 1/2 cup boiling water, 1 tsp vinegar and 15-20 drops food coloring in a coffee mug. Repeat for each color.
3. Using a spoon, tongs, dipper or whisk, dip eggs into color. The longer you leave them, the brighter the color. Use your creativity by dunking partially in one color and then partially in another.
4. Remove and set in egg carton to dry.
Note: While your eggs are hot and before you dye them, use crayons to make fun designs. When you dip them in the dye, color will not stick where the crayon is. Have fun!!
We'll be coloring eggs with Brielle's dad tomorrow night. Should be loads of fun. Be sure to like our Facebook page because we'll be posting pictures!!
