A very common question when a baby has two mommies is "what will he/she call each of you?" Some switch up the names and get the kid(s) to call each a different name like Mom & Mommy or Mommy C & Mommy R. But we've decided we're going to take the same approach as we do with the dogs. We refer to each of us as Mom or Mommy. That's it. They know the difference, especially when I say "go see Mommy." I mean, one Mommy is saying it to them so they are obviously going to know that I mean the other Mommy. Dogs are smart. Kids are smart. They'll get the picture and I don't think it's as confusing as it may seem. But...if for some odd reason this doesn't work out, we can always change our minds down the road and try a new approach.
