It's true that life is never a guarantee. We may not be here tomorrow. Our child may not be here tomorrow. As horrible as it is to even think of, it happens every single day.
I get teased all of the time that I take way too many photos of Brielle but you know what, I don't care and that hasn't stopped me. I love her. I'm proud of her. And if the unthinkable ever happened, I have a million photo memories to look back at. There's no way I will ever say I have too many pictures of my daughter.
I used to HATE getting my picture taken but as soon as Brielle came along, I knew it was important for her to have the memories of her mom in photos because one day, I will not be here. She will look back and see the happiness and the smiles.
I encourage everyone I know, especially the moms, to start taking photos of you and your kids. Even if you HATE it, they will forever be grateful. I promise.
What you are feeling behind that camera is not what they'll see. You may think your thighs are fat or your double chin is too big or your having a bad hair day but what they'll look back at in that photo is their mom....you.....the mother who loved them unconditionally and cared enough to snap a photo of the love you share together.
I have to admit that I now enjoy taking pictures of Brielle & I together. She throws her arms around me, we smile, laugh, act silly and enjoy each in that moment.
Take the photos. You won't regret it. I promise. Because tomorrow is never a guarantee.
