Our Little Mermaid

It's no surprise by now, but this little girl is a fish....a real little mermaid in the water. Brielle has been loving Houston, the weather, the outdoors, all of the new friends she's made and most of all, the swimming pool.

Just look at her, acting all cute in her swimsuit!!

Getting ready for her first swim in the pool. She was awake in this picture but it was just way too bright out. I took her alone while Rhonda was at work, so unfortunately I didn't get the chance to get photos of her. Too much to try to juggle a baby in the water and a camera!

And even when she's not swimming, she is just relaxed as can be outside, by the pool.

The first swimsuit was a little too snug so the next time she went swimming, she had another suit to wear. She was grumpy about it but was happy as could be once she was in the water. What a pouty face though!!

Finally later in the week, Brielle got to swim with both mommies so we could take some pictures.

The only reason she needs to have any support while floating in the water is because she doesn't realize she can't dramatically turn her head to the side. Otherwise, we can let her go and she floats on her own.

And if she gets the chance, she will dip down to drink the water. LOL

And in other vacation adventures, Brielle got her first hunting hat. We visited the Bass Pro Shop and found this super cute hat that is still way too big on her, but we did have to at least get a photo.
We also visited the aquarium at Moody Gardens in Galveston. Brielle slept through half of it and was pretty much unimpressed with the part where she was awake. No reaction to the penguins....

...and no reaction with the huge shark above her. Oh well, better reaction next time I guess. Mommies both enjoyed it so I guess that's what counts.

Decided we should get a picture outside of the Moody Gardens pyramids, with some rows of palm trees.

And a picture of a huge hibiscus flower that's almost as big as Brielle's head. Afterwards she wanted to eat it. Haha

Brielle found her "rocker" side!!! Everywhere we went, we got all kinds of comments about how cute she was in her little rebel outfit!!

Just hangin' in the hotel, like a happy girl.

And here is Brielle with her new friend Ashley who was very excited to meet her and held her every chance she got. There were 3 little girls doting on her and Brielle just loved them. She would lay on their lap, giggle, smile and kick her legs happily.

Thus far, the first week of vacation has been wonderful. We have done so much and visited with so many wonderful friends. It makes us miss Houston even more and makes us realize how truly blessed we are to know so many fantastic people. Texas is so near and dear to our heart because of them!! Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to visit and spend time with us while we're here.

On that note, this will be Rhonda's last trip to Houston for work. As of last week, she has accepted a new job in Saskatoon and gave her notice at NOV after 15 years. She will miss all of her co-workers but thankfully she has made some amazing friends who will always stay in touch. With the thought of her not working here any longer, also came the thought that we won't have her work as a reason to visit Houston. But, we WANT to come back for family vacations, to visit everyone. Again, Houston is near and dear to our heart....close enough that we want to make the effort to come back.
