Don't you just love upcycled clothes? I do so that's why I went on a spree of upcycling our old clothes into some fall/winter clothes for our 2 year old, Brielle.
When upcycling, there are no rules. I simply go to my
Baby Fashionista Pinterest board, browse through ideas and when something sparks my attention, I cut, pin and sew away. The best thing you can do to ensure you make the right size for your little one is to gather up shirts, pants, skirts, etc. and pin them directly to your material to use as a pattern. Always leave a seam allowance meaning cut your patterns a tad bigger to leave room for sewing. If you cut exactly to the size of the piece your making and then sew, your clothes will be smaller. That's the only real tip I have. Otherwise, be creative and have fun!

These harem pants are made from an old shirt of mine. They originally had a lace cuff at the bottom but it didn't have enough give so I had to switch it out and make cuffs like the waistband. Super quick fix. |

Harem pants are so much fun. They can be made long or short like I chose with this pattern. You can find the actual FREE printable pattern here. |

I can't take credit for this outfit. It came in the mail yesterday so we had to try it on for a photo. You can visit Jelly The Pug here for more awesome outfits like this one. We <3 Jelly The Pug!! |

Both the cardigan and the pants are upcycled. The pants are made from the sleeves I removed from a dress I have and the cardigan is made from an old cardigan I had. I used the natural shape but constructed it smaller. The back of this cardigan is all lace. It's super adorable! |

Here are the same upcycled pants from the photo above and the shirt is made from an old t-shirt. I thought it appropriate since we are headed to Texas in less than a month. It's kind of hard to tell in the photo but I made the shirt belled at the bottom and it comes lower on the side and higher in the middle. |

This sweater dress is created from an old sweater I had. I kept the open back because it's super cute and all of the hard work was already done. |

This is the front view of the sweater dress. It's adorable paired with a tank and leggings and since it's a neutral color, bright colors and patterns look super cute underneath. |
If you've never upcycled, maybe now is the time to give it a try. It's so much fun!
